Chapter Fifteen

Andrew

WHAT THE HELL WAS WRONG with me? I was pouring my heart out to the woman. I fucked her one time and I was spilling my guts. This was what it was like to be in a relationship? Relationship was a strong word.

“Oh, this looks good,” she exclaimed when our meals were delivered.

“You’ll like it.”

“I have no doubt in my mind that I will.”

I watched as she took a bite. She closed her eyes, savoring the first bite of the perfectly cooked steak. Her expression revealed her enjoyment. It looked like an orgasm face. I wanted to watch her while I pushed my fingers into her and brought her to a real orgasm.

“Thank you,” I said after we had enjoyed the majority of our meal.

“Shouldn’t I be thanking you?”

“Not for the food. Thank you for letting me bend your ear.”

“You didn’t bend my ear.”

“I did. You’re a really good listener.”

“I am glad I got to know you a little better. I think I understand you more.”

I pretended to be disgusted. “I don’t know if that’s good or bad.”

“It’s good. You have to know you come off a little aloof. You talk about sex a lot, but I know there is more to you than that guy you let everyone else see.”

I didn’t want to make myself too vulnerable. One step at a time into this world of relationships. “If you say so.”

She picked up the second glass of wine and sipped. “What happened with Kelly?”

“What do you mean?”

“You had her trespassed. That came right after the coffee date.”

“It wasn’t a date.”

“What happened on your not date.”

“She let me know she was hoping for rainbows and sunshine and happy endings.”

She smiled. “You mean she wanted to have your babies and live in a mansion with a white picket fence.”

“No respectable mansion would have a picket fence.”

“Why did you have her trespassed?” She asked the question with a goofy grin on her face. Her eyes sparkled with mischief.

“Because I didn’t want her to carve weird shit in my door or boil bunnies and leave them on my desk.”

She grimaced. “That’s dark.”

“I got the distinct impression she could go very dark with little provocation. I didn’t want to take any chances.”

“Good thinking.”

“I didn’t want you to have to deal with her shit either.”

“Thank you. She was kind of vile.”

“Kind of.” I scoffed.

I noticed her gaze kept moving away from me. I followed it. There was a huge Christmas tree in the center of a shopping square. I didn’t mind her looking out there. While she did, I looked at her.

That dress was hot. When I saw it, I knew it was perfect for her. Her rocking body deserved to be on display. Preferably, just for me. But I was an arrogant man and wanted to show her off. I wanted other men to look at her with envy. They couldn’t have her. She was mine. I wanted them to hate me. I wanted the rest of the men in the world to be jealous of me.
